York City Football Club Foundation

 

Delivering quality football coaching, programmes and opportunities to all ages and abilities across North Yorkshire.

York City Football Club Foundation is the charity linked to York City Football Club and based at the LNER Community Stadium. The YCFC Foundation delivers high quality football coaching programmes and opportunities to all ages and abilities across North Yorkshire.

YCFC Foundation has developed dramatically since it began in early 2007, through its football in the community initiatives and has grown massively over the 14 years to deliver in well over 100 schools per year, seeing over 18000 young people and working with over 1500 people aged 2 to 87+… per week.

 

The foundation is led by the management team below with a number of permanent and part time/casual staff working across the programme:

The coaching team hold high levels coaching qualifications including UEFA B and FA youth modules 3, in addition all lead coaching staff hold minimum FA Level 2 in football and have achieved or are working towards their 1st4sport Level 3 in Supporting the delivery of Physical Education. All Foundation staff and trustees hold enhanced DBS disclosures; and coaching staff also have First Aid and Safeguarding Children certificates.

YCFC Foundation activities are driven by aims to increase sports participation, with coaches delivering football and education workshops within schools; offering holiday football courses and player development centres; and talent identification programmes. The Foundation has increased its focus over the last five years on programmes using football as a vehicle for reaching a wider community including women and girls, targeted young people and vulnerable adults, building the level of public benefit as we move in the the new Community Stadium.
