Middlesbrough Football Club Foundation

MFC Foundation (MFCF) is Middlesbrough Football club’s independent charity, set up by club Chairman Steve Gibson in 1996. MFCF uses the power of the MFC brand to engage with the community to provide opportunities for disadvantaged young people and adults to maximise their potential to achieve.

MFC Foundation is a separate entity to MFC and was re-launched under a new brand in March 2013. It is run by a board of trustees. Experienced qualified staff deliver the products and services, 7 days a week.

The charity is based at The Riverside Stadium, in the Willie Maddren Education Centre which offers 3 large educational suites, kitted out with the latest I.T. equipment and interactive whiteboards for young people to engage in educational activities. In addition, the charity runs the Herlingshaw sports centre in South Bank which houses an indoor 3G, 7-a-side pitch, 3 outdoor, full size grass pitches (2 of which are floodlit) and a full-size outdoor astro turf pitch.

MFC Foundation’s core values are:

  • Team work;
  • Professionalism;

  • Inspiration.

And these are the main themes in which our employees operate under. Our staff are motivated, enthusiastic and passionate about the work they carry out which is key in achieving our overall aims.
